On The Road (Day 2)

Small victories of the day: Woke up when we wanted to, did a crossword puzzle, sat on the porch, went on a hike and survived, had amazing dinner (tiny english muffin burgers), watched Gilmore Girls, and made a fire in the fire place.
But as I mentioned in my previous post, Escalante is home to a plethora of great hikes. We decided to hike along the river that runs through Escalante and it was fantastic. What made this hike more than amazing was that when we started the hike it was a tad bit breezy, but as we made our way further into the canyon it became a natural wind tunnel. The wind was whipping sand and leaves around us in some of the canyon’s many curves and then it would be dead still (and quiet) just around the next bend.
Overall, the day was a huge success.
