Cassidy and I set off in the late afternoon for Escalante. A
small town tucked into the slickrock of southern Utah, it boasts some of the
best hiking in Utah but that’s not why I love it. My favorite part about going
to Escalante is a 10 mile stretch of Highway 12. On an average day it is a
thrilling drive, with cliffs on either side of the winding road, it leaves
little time to enjoy the breathtaking views. On this particular day, Cassidy
and I crossed this ridgeline at the perfect time.
